The HPB received a grant from the National Park Service and the Nebraska State Historical Society to hire a consultant to prepare a city-wide historic preservation plan. The purpose of the historic preservation plan is to identify historic and cultural resources, consider problems and opportunities associated with those resources, and strategies for their appropriate use, conservation and protection.
Because public input is critical to the historic preservation planning process, we are asking Sidney residents to complete a survey which may be accessed on the at the following link. All responses will remain anonymous.
You may also pick up a paper copy of the survey from the Community Development Office located at 740 Illinois Street or call Megan McGown at 308-254-8455.
If you would like to discuss the preservation plan with the historic preservation consultant, Shelley McCafferty, she may be reached at 308-667-2783 or 605-209-7898, or via email at shellmac7@yahoo.com.
