Forty golfers took part in the individual stroke play format. In the scratch or gross division, McCarville led all golfers with a 69 three under par performance, followed by Jeff Smith with a 73 and Klint Andreas with a 74.
In the handicap format or net division, Dean Sterling's score of 91 with 27 handicap strokes, carded a 64, followed by Harold Perkins at 65 and Brian Jones at 66. Trophies were awarded to the top three finishers in each division.
Sidney Mayor Wendall Gaston presented the trophies and flag prizes. Gaston started the tournament last year to help bring additional funding for landscaping and trees at the city owned Hillside Golf Course.
The tournament is likely to keep the Labor Day format and build upon its momentum in future years, according to Director of Golf Chuck Christensen.
