[ARCHIVED] Please Use Caution When Lighting Fireworks

City Manager Gary Person said he has discussed the issue with Sidney Fire Chief Keith Stone in regards to the issue. The City realizes vendors must order their stock months in advance and the July 4 holiday week is about celebration and family events. If serious issues occur as a result of the fireworks, however, the City does have the right to step in and immediately ban fireworks within its city limits, if necessary.

The public fireworks display by the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department will occur at dusk on July 3.
