[ARCHIVED] Sidney Regional Medical Center’s Dash for the Splash Triathlon donates funds for the Pool Project

The Sidney Swimming Pool Project has been in the dream stage for over 5 years and between grant funds, special sales tax allocation, City General Fund, and private contributions; we are very close to our goal of $5 million, which will make the entire project a reality!

The new state-of-the-art outdoor swimming pool/aquatics center will include a competition/lap pool, recreation pool with a zero entry and splash play features, a lazy river and a water slide.

The second Dash for the Splash Triathlon event was held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 with over 144 participants. At the September 8, 2015 City Council meeting, members of the Dash for the Splash executive team donated $4,000 to the Sidney Swimming Pool Project. The City was awarded a Challenge Grant from the Peter Kiewit Foundation in the amount of $250,000* if the City is successful in raising the remaining $750,000.

Recent donations bring fundraising efforts to $456,413.50 leaving only $293,586.50 remaining towards the $750,000 Challenge goal.

The total cost of the Swimming Pool Project is $5 million. Additional funds allocated for the project include $3.4 million in a special infrastructure sales tax plus $600,000 from the City's General Fund.
