[ARCHIVED] Sindey Swim Team, along with other local residents, donate funds for the the Pool Project

Additional donations have come in following Adams Industries recent donation to the Sidney Swimming Pool Project. The City was awarded a Challenge Grant from the Peter Kiewit Foundation in the amount of $250,000* if the City is successful in raising the remaining $750,000.

The Sidney Swim Team, along with other local residents, have donated another $813.50 following Adams’ recent donation of $25,000 over a five year period has brought fundraising efforts to $451,750 leaving only $298,186.50 remaining towards the $750,000 Challenge goal.

We are confident that through support of our local businesses, organizations, and residents that we will meet the challenge!

Contributions to date include:

$150,000 from the Cheyenne County Visitor's Committee
$100,000 from Cabela's, Inc.
$50,000 from the Health Center Foundation
$50,000 from Sidney Regional Medical Center
$30,000 from Security First Bank and Insurance
$25,000 from Points West Community Bank and Insurance
$25,000 from Adams Industries
$12,500 from American National Bank
$5,000 from the Thompson Foundation
$1,000 from Great Western Bank
$1,000 from Geri and Lorin Anthony
$500 from LifeSmiles of Sidney
$500 from Sidney Kiwanis Club
$500 from Katie Haas-State Farm Insurance
$500 from Kelly Lapp-RE/MAX Realty Partners
$250 from Sidney Swim Team
$38.50 in Cash Donations at July Downtown Sounds Event
$25 from Ryan Hermens

The total cost of the Swimming Pool Project is $5 million. Additional funds allocated for the project include $3.4 million in a special infrastructure sales tax plus $600,000 from the City's General Fund.

Donations may be mailed to City of Sidney, ATTN: Geri Anthony; PO Box 79; Sidney, NE 69162. Please include "Pool Fund" in the memo. All contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law.
