Brock Buckner


Brock has been a conductor with BNSF Railway since 2019. Prior to that, he was a lieutenant with the Colorado Department of Corrections at Sterling Correctional facility in Sterling Colorado from September 1999 to January 2018. During his time there he commanded several special teams and graduated from the FBI Academy's CIRT program becoming a licensed hostage negotiator. He served in the US Army from 1993 to 1997, receiving several medals and an honorable discharge. Brock is also a three-time state champion coach with the Merino Rams located in Merino Colorado. Those titles came in "03”, “05”, and “07”. 

Brock met his wife Lasandra in 2013 and married in 2014 combining two families into one to the tune of nine children and thirteen grandchildren. Together they relocated to Sidney in May of 2018.  He enjoys spending quality time with his family, his ministry, history, his Chicago Bears, Bulls, Blackhawks, Fighting Illini and White Sox. He enjoys Sci-Fi movies especially Star Wars, Star Trek and DC comics.

 

He was appointed to the City Council in June of 2023.
